Maura has always been & immensely enjoyed being a creative person & working with others. Her love for all things beauty started with makeup. Before deciding to attend cosmetology school, she would sit at her vanity at home with piles of makeup, watching youtube videos & recreating makeup looks. She began working on other people; family and friends, & doing makeup for her younger sister + fellow actors in musicals & plays. This fueled her desire to do more creatively & decided to go to cosmetology school to learn all that she could. Maura offers one-on-one makeup lessons in the salon for clients so they can create beautiful customized makeup looks at home. You will leave feeling confident, beautiful & cared for no matter what service you choose with Maura. 

 

Maura went to cosmetology school in 2015 in Laconia, NH, graduating in 2016. While finishing school, Maura worked as a front desk associate at a spa in Northern NH, where she learned from fellow cosmetologists/ estheticians & assisted at her first salon job, continuing on to be a stylist for 5 ½ years. 

 

In the spa space, Maura found a love for organic skin care while learning about Eminence Organics Skincare. Maura garnered experience with hair cutting, coloring & nail care all through continuing education in the salon space. Working in the White Mountains so close to Loon Mountain & other beautiful scenic locations, Maura has had years of experience working with brides & bridal parties creating hair & bridal makeup looks to shine in the beautiful landscape. 

 

Given the opportunity, Maura attended & trained with Matrix Hair at the Matrix Destination Education program in Orlando, Florida, as well as experienced the International Beauty Show in New York. 

 

Working with Kiara Mooney Salon + Spa, Maura has had the pleasure of learning & working with our exclusive color line Goldwell. She has worked one-on-one with Kiara perfecting her already natural talent & eye for creativity. She thoroughly enjoys continuing education with our lead educator Robbie on all things beauty & look forward to the future education the salon provides in house & on location. She has also recently trained with Laurel Skin Care, a 100% organic raw skincare line; which is vital to Maura with her fair, very sensitive skin. She has fallen in love with the products & how they bring peace & calmness to her skin & enjoying using them on her clients.  She is looking forward to offering elevated skincare to her clients & others who share her passion for beautiful skin.

 

Having the opportunity to work in the beauty industry with so many creative stylists & wonderful clients is truly a blessing to Maura. Her warm, welcoming demeanor is felt as soon as you walk though the door. She makes each experience as kind, gentle & loving for our clients with her genuine compassion & softness. She always strives to have a positive outlook on life & to never stop learning & growing.
